Aaron Fleetwood joins Pro Ballers Osnabrueck

Aaron Fleetwood signed a contract with Pro Ballers Osnabrueck this weekend to join the Pro A team for the upcoming season. The 6’9″ forward returns to Osnabrueck after playing for Phoenix Hagen in the last two seasons. In his last year when Hagen played in the german BBL. He played 30 games averaging 14.8 mpg, 5.1 ppg and 3.1 rpg. His best performance in the german highest league was a very good performance against Ratiopharm Ulm where he posted a double double: 14 points and 10 rebounds. Aaron is well known by the Osnabrueck organization since he played there in his rookie season. With bringing in Fleetwood, Osnabrueck ads experience and athleticism to their team.

Dwight Thorne joins BG Karlsruhe

Dwight Thorne, the guard from the  University of Colorado that plays in the strong  BIG 12 conference, committed to BG Karlsruhe in the Pro A in Germany. In his first year he is going to lead Karlsruhe in their quest to return to the BBL. Thorne is excited to start his career in Germany with a  team that has such high ambitions. His leadership qualities, his quality to read offenses and his defensive intensity will help Karlsruhe reach their goals. Headcoach Silvano Poropat is very delighted with the signing of Dwight Thorne: ” He played in a very strong conference, therefore he played on a very high level. He is physically very strong and has a very good gamementality and is very versatile. I also think, that as a person he really is a good fit for us and I am looking forward to work with him.

London “The Jacksonville Jet” Warren is now an UBC Tiger

Scorers1st client London Warren signed a one year deal with UBC Tigers Hannover this week. The lightning quick point guard lead the Dayton Flyers to the NIT title this year and is now suiting up for  his first year as a pro. Warren who is known for his quickness, energy, enthusiasm and creativity is thrilled to join Hannover in the Pro A: „I can’t wait to get to Hannover and get started. Teaming up with Charles (Little) again is just the icing on the cake. We share the same philosophy: play hard and never get outworked. We’re going to provide Tiger fans with an exciting brand of basketball”. UBC Tigers coach Mahmut Ataman is pleased about geting London Warren aboard:  ‘Warren convinced with his understanding of his role as a player. He is a true point guard that thinks team first. It is also a big advantage that he played together with Christhopher Little for three years. They have a blind understanding between each other. “We will have a new quality with the team in our passing and defense”, warned Hannover coach Mahmut Ataman.

John Bynum joins TBB Trier in the german BBL

US Combo Guard John ‘JB’ Bynum is back in a European top league after signing with TBB Trier in the German D1 for the 2010/11 season.

After sitting out for a year, John got back on the court with the Crailsheim Merlins in the German Pro A in the 2009/10 season and took full advantage of the opportunity, that presented itself to him, by guiding the Merlins to an unexpected 6th spot in the standings of the Pro A and being one of the, if not the, best guards in the Pro A.

Playing for Trier is the third stint in the German top league after having played for Bremerhaven and Paderborn during his career.

Benjamin Fumey signs with Webmoebel Baskets Paderborn

Webmoebel Baskets Paderborn signed scorers1st client Benjamin Fumey for the 2010/2011 season. The 23 year old forward played for the Nordlingen Giants last year in the Pro A  averaging 9.9 ppg and 4.0 rpg.   ‘We were able to get a great replacement with Fumey for Robert Ohle at the big positions. His athletic ability will give him the chance to be able to defend against stronger guys. He showed last season that he can play in the PRO A’, stressed Dirk Happe .

Benjamin  played for The Bremen Roosters from 2004-2007.  After that he  played two years in the NCAA for Valparaiso from 2007-2009.

Jorge Schmidt signs in german pro A with Chemnitz

The german shooting guard has signed with the Chemnitz 99ers in the German Pro A after playing a vital role for the Wuerzburg Baskets in the Pro B this past season.

Jorge has played for several strong programs already in his career, having played for Goettingen, Braunschweig, MBC, Wuerzburg and now Chemnitz. Jorge is looking forward to bringing his shooting touch and strong work ethic to the 99ers as well as working with the new Head-Coach Torsten Loibl.
